In this six-week offering, participants will have the opportunity to dig into the potentially lucrative world of voice-over acting.

The class will be led by Director of Education and Community Outreach Allen O’Reilly. Allen has done over forty audiobooks as well as radio spots for the NHL, Chick-Fil-A, Coca-Cola and The Georgia Lottery.

The six-week class will be broken into three two-week sessions: First, the focus will be radio commercial spots, then the study of accents for two weeks (British Standard, Southern, New York and various European) and finally, Audiobooks, featuring a special guest!

At the last session, participants will record a radio spot, dialect monologue or audiobook sample of their choice!

 


Allen O’Reilly is Director of Education & Community Outreach at Bay Street Theater and has been an educator and professional actor for over thirty years. He has served as Artistic Director at Young Audiences of Atlanta, Education Director at Georgia Shakespeare and most recently Education Programs Manager at Cleveland Play House. Regional acting credits include Cleveland Play House, Geva Theatre, Clarence Brown, Alliance Theatre and Georgia Shakespeare for twenty- four seasons where Allen was an Associate Artist. Television and film credits include Sleepy HollowTURN: Washington’s SpiesBobby Jones: Stroke of GeniusThe Assassin’s CodeThe Enormity of Life and the upcoming Wicked (The Wicked Trilogy).
