KIDS MUSIC THEATRE CAMPS

Bay Street Theatre's 2011 KIDS MUSIC THEATRE CAMPS were held in February, April and August. Watch for more information on dates for 2012!

These week long camps are very popular and book up quickly. Each week long session includes classes and games incorporating every aspect of theatre including acting, singing, performance and dance. Students write and perform in their own mini-musical!

Debra Barsha, a professional teacher as well as a Broadway performer and musician, led two of the camps in 2011. She is the Associate Conductor of Broadway's Jersey Boys. Beyond her performing talents, Barsha is also known for her songwriting, and she has penned a number of musicals for both children and adults alike. "I tell the kids in theater class that there is no such thing as a mistake. It's one of the only places in their lives they will ever hear that. As long as you are in character, you are allowed to be and do anything you want!" says Debra.

Marcy McGuigan is a stage, television/video actress, singer, comedienne, educator and musician. She led two of the camps in 2011. Known for her vivid characterizations and impersonations, McGuigan is comfortable performing leading ladies as well as supportive side kick characters. She played Dorothy Brock in the 42nd Street National Tour (Carbonelle Nomination).
