Page to Stage Workshop with Vincent Murphy

In this one-day workshop, Vincent Murphy will focus on techniques and the six building block strategies you can use to adapt stage-worthy plays. A short, fun, and collaborative project will be assigned during the workshop and time will be allotted to “brainstorm” an adaptation you might be considering.
Vincent Murphy is an internationally recognized playwright/director/artistic director and the author of Page to Stage: The Craft of Adaptation. He has worked at several major theaters including Sundance and The London Actors Center. His book guides you to successfully adapted from an array of novels, short stories, poems, autobiographies, and essays, by widely diverse writers.

Inspired by the ever-popular My Life: The Musical camps, this new offering will provide lower elementary students the opportunity to learn the basics of musical theater!
Campers can choose one character from the history of musical theatre or plays that they are interested in studying, and with guidance, take a thorough examination of that character’s arc and journey throughout their respective show.
Participants will adapt their favorite fairy tales and myths into a presentation that will be performed for friends and family on the final day of camp!
