The second annual New Works Festival is set to be a thoughtful and entertaining occasion of theater this weekend.
Themed the "Festival of Rediscovery," the characters and artists have a space to explore and find newness in these works. Bay Street is committed to having a space for new work to be developed and welcomes audiences into that process. For FREE. We want our community to participate in and experience the journey that these artists make. By providing the festival for free, including each talkback after every reading to discuss the work with the playwrights themselves, we strive to continue our mission to entertain, inspire & enhance the cultural arts for the entire East End.
The plays in the festival will be A Delicate Ship by Anna Ziegler, The Green Heart, A Musical with book by Charles Busch and music and lyrics by Rusty Magee, and Plane Play by Julia Brownell. An Artist Interact - a Panel Discussion moderated by Tony Award winning producer Ken Davenport, and followed by a cocktail reception, will take place at 7 pm on Saturday night for only $10.
