BroadwayWorld’s Long Island section announced the full cast for Bay Street’s intimate new staging of the six-time Tony winner, running August 4–29, 2026 on the Mainstage in Sag Harbor and directed by Artistic Director Scott Schwartz.
Kenny Lee stars as Evan Hansen — a recent graduate of the Boston Conservatory at Berklee — with Broadway veteran Maya Days as his mother, Heidi Hansen. Both reprise their roles from the earlier A.C.T. of Connecticut staging, part of the co-production between the two companies; Days’s Broadway credits include Rent, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Aida. The ensemble also features Heather Ayers, Gil Brady, Olivia Foght, Erik Houck, Josh Hoyt, Amaya White, and others.
Schwartz frames the production around the show’s central theme of connection:
“Dear Evan Hansen is a story about our need to connect with one another… When we look up from our phones, we begin to recognize how connected we all really are.”
The piece rounds out with the creative pedigree — book by Steven Levenson, music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul — and ticket details via baystreet.org or the box office at 631-725-9500.
