Dear Social Media: The Search for Identity, Connection & Belonging

The promise and perils of internet use and its impact on kids’ mental health

Tickets

Join The Kind Mind on Friday, August 14th at 5 PM, for a conversation on what it means to be seen, heard, and found in a world that’s always online. From building community to navigating comparison, cyberbullying, and mental health, hear firsthand perspectives from youth mental health expert Dr. Katie Hurley, DSW, LCSW, Vice President of Community Initiatives at JED Foundation, Maya Days, Broadway, television and film actor, currently starring as Evan’s mother, Heidi Hansen in the BST production of DEH and a young social media personality as they explore how to talk with kids about what they’re encountering online. Together we can build a healthier relationship with social media, and discuss why the themes of Dear Evan Hansen feel so urgently crucial for young people today. Following the conversation, join fellow attendees in the lobby for cocktails, light bites, and continued conversation until 7 PM.
