Gene Casey

In the latter part of the last century, GENE CASEY departed New York City and its Punk rock/New wave scene for Long Island’s East End. There, he formed the Lone Sharks, “the house band of the Hamptons,” where bars were plentiful and audiences – both the local and the celebrated – were robust and loyal. Over the course of the next few decades Gene and the evolving line-up of Sharks “played – and tore up – every roadhouse, bar, and honky tonk from Manhattan to Montauk” (Bop Magazine), sharing the bill and backing legendary roots rock & roll acts as Wanda Jackson, the Band, Bo Diddley, Sleepy LaBeef, NRBQ, and the Ventures. Gene’s original music met with great acclaim with local and international indie radio play. Several of his roots-drenched songs have been used in “A Prairie Home Companion” and on the soundtracks to television and feature films, including “Justified” and “Sons of Anarchy” ; the 2012 thriller “The Tall Man” starring Jessica Biel, the 2013 release “The Killing Season” starring Robert DeNiro, and Rob Reiner’s “Being Charlie.” In 2014 Gene and the Lone Sharks were inducted into the Dan’s Papers “Best of the Best” Hall of Fame, having been honored over 20 times. A year later Gene, “the premier barroom troubadour of Eastern Long Island” (author Josh Alan Friedman) received the Long Island Sound Award by the L.I. Music Hall of Fame, “for contributions to the Island’s musical landscape.” Northforker.com (the on-line arm of the Suffolk Times) named Gene and the group “People of the Year” for 2016. 2017 saw the release of “Guitar In The Rain” an album celebrating the roots of contemporary Americana with original songs that evoke the romantic sweep of 60s pop, classic C&W and the raw untamed spirit of early rock & roll. 2020 brings “Free Country: Essential Recordings” a compilation of some of the best songs culled from 20 years of work, as well as a unique arrangement of the public domain standard, “Home on the Range” where all of Gene’s influences and obsessions seem to converge.

Eugene Chrysler

Eugene Chrysler. Where the heck did he come from? His videos have been on TNN and CMT and even the show "Law and Order". Well, Eugene started playing back in 1981. His own blend of music takes its influence from rockabilly, blues, western swing, and honky tonk. The story of Eugene Chrysler begins in Guphead, Tennessee, not in Detroit as the name may imply. Many nights of playing in beer-soaked gin joints with his uncle Bud and his big brother Ray on guitar got Euge hooked on music. After many years of fine tuning their sound, the boys started opening up for some bigger traveling acts. Eugene's first CD release "I Saw the Light, But it Was Neon" mixes sly humor with an element of sadness. You'll find that in "No Reason to Blame" and in his waltz "Drinkin' My Dinner and Eating My Words". For his second CD, Eugene enlisted the help from some of his friends in the Lonestar State. Hill 'Billy’ Shakespeare was recorded in those two towns duking it out for the title of Music City, USA, Nashville and Austin. Special guests include Asleep At The Wheel's Ray Benson, Cindy Cashdollar, Jason Roberts, and Floyd Domino. Also along for the ride are Toni Price, Champ Hood, Mark Kazanoff, and Brian Hofeldt from The Derailers. Even though he's based up in the NYC area, his roots are in the south. He grew up listening to Elvis, Carl Perkins, Bob Wills, Johnny Cash, and Asleep At The Wheel. If you told him when he was a kid that someday he would do a duet with Roy Benson, he would have flipped! For his third CD, he went back to his roots. "I wanted to do a bunch of songs that had influenced me over the years." Along with guitarist Skip Krevens and drummer Jeff Somerstein, he went into the studio and recorded 22 tracks of his most favorite of songs. His most recent cd "Hillbilly Funpark" is also his most personal. There are 16 original tracks all written by Eugene and features one of his heroes, Bill Kirchen on guitar. Eugene's music is a mix of rockabilly, western swing, and honky tonk. His live performances have more energy than a trucker full of Red Bull and Krispy Kremes. Eugene flips his big ole' doghouse around like it was a fiddle and is known to even play it behind his back!

Nancy Atlas

I write the songs that make the young boys cry. No, not really but I can’t resist quoting Barry Manilow. A description of what I do would fall somewhere between part back street poet and part David Lee Roth wannabe. (High Eighties David Lee Roth thank you very much). I go deep, I sweat, I laugh, I howl, I purge and I have an enormous amount of sweaty kooky fun at my shows. What you see is what you get. I like to work hard before performances so that when it all comes together before your eyes it seems effortless and magical. The way music should be. An ultimate ride. What else… My band nicknames, that is the ones I know of (wink wink) are Blondie, Spanky, Mommmy and a four note melody (G,G, D,C#) that Brett and Johnny play when I mess something up. I love my band, I love my audience and I am not afraid to let it all hang out. As I like to say, “Live Large and Play Hard”. That about sums it up for now.
