Literature Live! returns this November with the classic by Tennessee Williams: A Streetcar Named Desire.
Literature Live! brings classic literature to the stage, breathing life into the works many of us read in high school. This program allows for high schoolers across Long Island to attend a professional performance of a classic title completely free of charge. This program is only possible through the support of people like you.

Now in its sixteenth year, this program has served over 43,000 students from Queens to Montauk who have attended professional productions at Bay Street free of charge. This BOCES-approved initiative has featured great American Classics throughout its history: Death of a Salesman, The Great Gatsby, A Raisin in the Sun, To Kill a Mockingbird and last year’s production of The Crucible just to name a few.

Shea Buckner
as Stanley Kowalski
Shea is an accomplished actor known for his dynamic performances across television and film. Recently, he showcased his talent with guest leads on the acclaimed series The Blacklist and The Equalizer. He has also made a mark in the Power universe, appearing in a recurring role on the Starz spinoff Ghost. Shea was one of the leads in ABC’s pilot Get Christie Love.
In addition to his recent work, Shea has been featured in episodes of popular shows including NCIS: LA, Mom, Animal Kingdom, Shameless, and How to Get Away with Murder.
Before his acting career, Shea was a competitive water polo player, representing his country as an Olympian. His film credits include notable roles in Marauders alongside Dave Bautista and Chris Meloni, Arsenal with Bruce Willis, and The Life and Death of John Gotti opposite John Travolta. He also appeared in Escape Plan 2, sharing the screen with Sylvester Stallone and Dave Bautista.
Matthew Conlon
as the Doctor
Matthew Conlon was a participant in the building of the Bay Street Theatre, and appeared in the inaugural production, Men’s Lives by Joe Pintauro. Recent East End appearances include …Forum at Hampton Theatre Company, The Crucible at Bay Street and Uncle Vanya at the Remsenburg Academy.
Carlos Garcia
as Pablo Gonzalez
Carlos Garcia is classically trained and has played roles from Shakespeare to David Mamet. Representative roles include Proteus from The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Roderigo from Othello, Edmond from Edmond, A Nasty, Interesting Man/ Lord of the Underworld from Eurydice, working in theaters in New York City and East End of Long Island, as well as contracts on films and production credits for HBO’s Serving The Hamptons. Carlos has proper stage combat knowledge taught by Christian Kelly-Sordelet with emphasis on rapiers and hand to hand combat, sword and fencing was taught by Yale graduate Steven Gefroh. He has also worked alongside directors such as Steven Hamilton and Rob Barron. Carlos is Looking forward to working on the next Emmy Award USA series or any feature opposite of Christian Bale.
Nicole Marie Hunt
as Eunice Hubbell
Nicole Marie Hunt has performed in many Regional and Off-Broadway theatres, including: Detroit Repertory Theatre, Theatre Nova, Meadowbrook Theatre, WP, Chain Theatre, The Tank, etc. She has also appeared in several independent films, most notably Merry Go Round, which garnered her seven Best Actress awards on the film festival circuit. She can be seen in the streaming series Inside the Black Box, the feature film Affliction, as well as the soon-to-be-released limited series’ Men Like Us and The Ballad of Saquaan Jones. Nicole has trained under Bill Esper, Peter Jensen and Mercedes Ruehl with additional training at the Folger Shakespeare Theatre and The Juilliard School. She is represented by Take 3 Talent and is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association.

Adelaide Mestre
Nurse/Mexican Woman
Adelaide Mestre is an actress, singer, writer and solo show performer. She has appeared in theatrical productions, musicals, commercials, cabarets, and films, including Woody Allen's, Husbands and Wives. Adelaide has written and performed several solo shows. Her full-length musical memoir, Top Drawer premiered in the New York International Fringe Festival and has enjoyed multiple productions at theatres in New York and nationally, including most recently at The Church in Sag Harbor and the Southampton Cultural Center. Adelaide received the Bill Bowers Award of Excellence at the SaraSolo Fesival in Sarasota, Fl and in 2018 performed in Miami at the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora. At Bay Street he has acted in The Crucible, Of Mice And Men, A Raisin In The Sun, Romance, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Diary Of Anne Frank, and The Grift.
Film roles include Steve in Refuge, and Hunter in Dark Was The Night.
Katie Rodgers
as Stella Kowalski
Katie Rodgers was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and reared in South Florida. She recently graduated with her masters degree from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and also has her BFA from NYU Tisch. She is delighted to be making her Bay Street Theater debut in Tennessee Williams’ iconic and masterful play A Streetcar Named Desire and honored to be involved in a project that encourages education and appreciation for American Theater.
Past credits include Maggie in The Scarlet Savior (Off-Broadway), Carole King in Beautiful (SCAD), Irene in Irene, (NYU) and Maria in The Sound of Music (Regional).
Sawyer A. Spielberg
as Harold "Mitch" Mitchell
Sawyer Spielberg is a NY-based actor and was most recently seen on Apple TV+’s series, Masters of the Air.
He has starred in the films Honeydew, Merry Good Enough, A Martyr of Gowanus, and Christmas Eve In Miller’s Point (which just premiered at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight). Additionally, he just filmed supporting roles in Celine Song’s The Materialists and On The End. Spielberg is repped by Swiontek Entertainment; Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman; and Narrative PR.

Stephen Hamilton
In 1991, Steve co-founded Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor, NY with Emma Walton Hamilton, and Sybil Christopher. In his seventeen years as Executive Director of BST, Hamilton oversaw over 50 productions including Jon Robin Baitz’ adaptation of Hedda Gabler (Tony nomination, Kate Burton), Sandy Wilson’s The Boy Friend (Julie Andrews’ directorial debut and National Tour). Other new plays under his tenure included work from Paula Vogel, Lanford Wilson, Cynthia Ozick, Terrence McNally, Marsha Norman, Chris Durang, and Rick Dresser featuring performances by Cherry Jones, Alan Alda, Diane Weist, Richard Dreyfus, Mercedes Ruehl, and Twiggy.
