Duties and Responsibilities
The BST mainstage season features the mounting of 4 productions and other special events. The Stage Crew Lead follows policies and practices that ensure the highest levels of safety and responsible usage.
General responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate the setup and organization of venue in anticipation of shows loading-in.
- Attend final rehearsal room run-throughs of productions
- Assist with load-ins and outs of rehearsal rooms and at the theater.
- Leading the crew of stagehands and/or Production Assistants with all backstage operations including but not limited to moving and setting scenery and props
- Lead the crews preshow and post show duties including presetting and checking props/scenery and sweeping/mopping.
- Run deck tracks when needed.
- Train show runcrew swings when needed.
- Coordinate or execute any necessary scenic/props repairs in conjunction with department heads.
- Coordinate crews with Director of Production and Stage Manager during technical rehearsals
- Assist with creation of runs sheet and related show-running paperwork
- Assist scenic team and other departments with show load-ins/outs
- Attend final rehearsal room run throughs when possible
- Help with driving the Bay Street Van or Rental Truck for rehearsal load-ins/outs, props pickups, etc.
- Assist with other BST events including, but not limited to concerts, comedian performances, galas, and other special events/projects as needed.
