Description
The Narrator’s father in 1942. Young Leading Man. College graduate with a burning interest in theatre. Despite aspirations in the arts, when WWII starts, he joins the navy as a bomb disposal officer. His journey through the Pacific takes him from an attitude of elitism to universal compassion. His letters to Jean are filled with elevated language that he speaks with musicality, lyricism, vulnerability and deep emotion.
