Youth Musical Theatre Program in Sag Harbor
Shrek The Musical KIDS is Bay Street Theater’s exciting youth musical theatre program for young performers on the East End of Long Island.
Beauty is in the eye of the ogre! Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and hit Broadway musical, this high-energy production is designed especially for young performers.
Once upon a time, in a faraway swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. When his home is invaded by banished fairytale misfits cast off by Lord Farquaad, Shrek sets off on an unforgettable adventure with a wisecracking donkey. Along the way, he must rescue Princess Fiona and discover what truly makes someone beautiful.
Featuring memorable songs like “Big Bright Beautiful World,” “I Know It’s Today,” and “Freak Flag,” Shrek The Musical KIDS is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family!
The program concludes with a live performance on the Bay Street Theater stage.

About Bethany Dellapolla
Director of Education and Community Outreach
Bethany Dellapolla is an actress, director, choreographer, intimacy director (IDC Professionals), acting coach, and teaching artist based in NYC and Long Island. She received her BA in Musical Theatre Performance from SUNY New Paltz, and earned her Master’s Degree in Childhood Education from LIU, graduating with honors.
Bethany brings extensive experience in youth musical theatre education. Her teaching and directing credits include Broadway Dance Center (Triple Threat Program), Gateway Playhouse, Pierson Middle High School, TADA! Youth Theatre, Westhampton Beach PAC, and her own NYC-based youth theatre company, NexGen Youth Theatre.
She has directed and choreographed over 50 productions for adults and kids alike, including The Addams Family, Into the Woods, Annie, Beauty and the Beast Jr., Seussical, and many more. Her students have gone on to perform on Broadway, Off Broadway, in regional theatre, and in film and television.
At Bay Street Theater, Bethany leads dynamic musical theatre classes for kids in Sag Harbor, helping young performers develop confidence, artistry, and a love of live theatre.

FAQs
Nope! While attending every class is strongly encouraged, students can miss up to two classes and still participate. They must be available for our final rehearsal on 4/12 and for the performance on 4/13 however.
Yes! Students can submit videos of themselves reading a scene from the show, and singing a song of their choice to be considered for different roles. Email bdellapolla@baystreet.org for details!
