At Shakespeare Shenanigans, we engage in a daily exploration of our human spirit and genius through the medium of theatrical storytelling, using the endlessly interpretive works of Shakespeare as our text, and the classical ideals of balance, harmony, grace and humor as guiding principles. Basic acting skills are practiced, and fun Shakespearean stuff like Elizabethan Dance, Stage Combat and Clown are introduced. Fun costumes and props are provided!
Daily camp sessions are comprised of acting workshops, lively games, creative rest, visual arts and other activities that encourage the working of our curiosity, imagination and creative problem-solving muscles, and give us some acting chops. Each camper works on a Shakespeare speech chosen and edited just for them. Activities are scaffolded for age groups to play both separately and together to culminate in a Family & Friends Sharing Day on Friday, where the campers will put on a presentation they create that includes all their speeches.
