2026 Literature Live!
In fall 2026, Literature Live! returns with To Kill a Mockingbird, bringing one of American literature’s most enduring stories to the Bay Street stage.
Set in the American South, To Kill a Mockingbird explores questions of justice, prejudice, empathy, courage, and what it means to stand up for what is right. Through the experiences of young Scout Finch and the people who join her on her journey of growing up, the story challenges audiences to consider how we understand one another, how communities respond to injustice, and the responsibility each of us has to look beyond our own point of view.

To date, this program has served nearly 50,000 students with free admission each year. An ongoing matching fundraising campaign has begun to secure funding by the community for this year’s program, along with other community events.

Our Impact as a BOCES-approved Program
Over the past eighteen years, Bay Street’s Literature Live! program has served nearly 50,000 students, presenting acclaimed productions such as Death of a Salesman, The Great Gatsby, A Raisin in the Sun, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Crucible, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Fahrenheit 451.
