An unlikely friendship is forged between a small community of striking miners in Wales and a team of London-based gay-and-lesbian activists who help fight their cause. With no end to the strike in sight, the urban activists venture into the countryside to deliver their donation in person, and find they have more in common with the people of this struggling community than anyone on either side could have expected. Cameron, a high-school track athlete, is forced to attend a Christian gay conversion therapy center after her legal guardian discovers she is a lesbian. But Cameron finds camaraderie and solidarity with the other gay teens there and learns how to survive in an intolerant world.

The tender, heartbreaking story of a young man’s struggle to find himself, told across three defining chapters in his life as he experiences the ecstasy, pain, and beauty of falling in love, while grappling with his own sexuality.
