What is Bay Street's theatre camp?
Each day will be filled with classes and theatre games incorporating every aspect of theatre- from acting to singing, from performance to dance. Of course we'll incorporate fun breaks for snacks and lunch (from home), allowing time for teachers and pupils to get to know one another as well as for groups to perform for each other. Kids will divided into different groups, based on scene requirements, age levels, and experience.

Who is the instructor?
Debra Barsha will be directing the camp. Debra is both a professional teacher as well as Broadway performer and musician. Her talents include piano, voice and conducting, and she is currently appearing on Broadway in Jersey Boys. As both playwright and songwriter, Deb's own children's musical, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and The Emperor's New Condo are performed in schools throughout the country.

Who can sign up for theatre camp?
Children ages 8-12 are eligible to join in the fun with parental approval. No experience required, although those with experience are very much encouraged to join. Groups will be divided to best suit the needs of each child and the class size will be limited.

BAY STREET'S CAMPS RECEIVE RAVE REVIEWS!!!

2009 KIDS THEATRE CAMPS & CLASSES

Another successful camp! Our summer students worked hard for only two weeks to write, produce and perform their own mini-musical, "The Old Lady in the Shoe: The Shoe's Story"

"My daughter is in the theater camp with Debra, and I just want to tell you how much she loves it. My understanding from one of the other mothers is her daughter feels the same. I've talked to my daughter about enrolling in another program in the fall, but she wants Debra!"

"To all you wonderful folks at Bay Street...You must know and feel how positively you all impact upon the kids involved and how grateful we are as parents to have our children guided through this kind of love and discipline and creativity. Debra taught the girls to write, stage and perform a play, and in two weeks she gave them skills and passion for life. Thank you for hosting this incredible experience. Count us among the registrants for the winter and spring classes."

FEBRUARY AND APRIL CAMPS ALSO RECEIVED RAVE REVIEWS FROM THE PARENTS!

"What a great week! Our daughter (and her friend) had a blast. I loved the fact that you were all so non-judgemental. (You) made the kids feel so good. A big thank you and we'll see you again in April!"

"The parents were incredibly connected to the liveliness of both the younger and older kids' performances, and you could tell that each child's talent was respected by the instructors, and that each child was genuinely proud to be strutting their stuff in a fun setting."

"(my daughter) is heartbroken she wont be able to attend (this next session) of camp. Only the promise of participation in the next one eases her a bit . . . "

" she loved the experience you all gave to her"
