20,000
by Mike Billings and Brian C. Staton
An irreverent mash up of text and imagery from Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and the writings of environmentalist Rachel Carson, 20,000 promises to be a surprising voyage to unexpected places.
Wonder/Wall is an exciting and new immersive video performance series. Performances will be approximately 15 minutes in duration, and will take place within Bay Street Theater’s courtyard, which will be converted into a newly envisioned outdoor performance space created especially for this compelling presentation.
Mike Billings is a New York City-based designer and has most recently designed The West End production of The Prince of Egypt. In addition to designing dozens of productions for Bay Street Theater, Mike has also designed for Laguna Playhouse, Rubicon Theatre Company (three-time LA Ovation Award-nominee), TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, American Theater for Actors, Guild Hall, Quintessence Theatre Company, Abingdon Theatre, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, and Dorset Theatre Festival. He has also designed the lighting for themed attractions at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Mike holds a BFA degree from the University of Connecticut and is a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local USA829.
