Bay Street Theatre announces its HarborFest Weekend events with GENE KELLY WEEKEND September 6 & 7!!

Bay Street Theatre announces its HarborFest Weekend events with GENE KELLY WEEKEND taking place Sept. 6 and 7 in honor of Peconic Picture Show sponsored by Peconic Landing. Plans include the screening of the classic Gene Kelly films AN AMERICAN IN PARIS on Friday, Sept. 6 at 8 pm and FOR ME AND MY GAL on Saturday Sept. 7 at 8pm. Tickets are $7 at the door.

Friday, September 6
AN AMERICAN IN PARIS at 8 pm. Starring Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron.

Jerry Mulligan, a struggling American painter in Paris, is "discovered" by an influential heiress with an interest in more than Jerry's art. Jerry in turn falls for Lise, a young French girl already engaged to a cabaret singer. Jerry jokes, sings and dances with his best friend, an acerbic would-be concert pianist, while romantic complications abound.

Saturday, September 7.
FOR ME AND MY GAL at 8pm. Starring Judy Garland and Gene Kelly.

Set during WW I, Palmer and Hayden team up as vaudeville artists. Harry Palmer deliberately injures his hand to avoid being drafted to the army. Later, he makes up for this. WWI patriotism for a WWII audience, very sentimental, great musical episodes and songs.

Tickets are $7 at the door. For the $28 dinner and a movie prix-fixe dinner at Dockside, call 631-725-7100. Watch for more participating restaurants to be announced!
