                          producer will run all aspects of this production.

Preparation: Children auditioning for Helen will be asked to participate in improv exercises. Sides for all roles other than for Helen,  will be available one hour prior to the auditions at Bay Street Theatre.

Other: TYA weekly contract. All performances and rehearsals will be at the Bay Street Theatre Actors must be residents within 50 miles of Sag Harbor, NY. Housing and per diems will not be provided. Actors cast as Helen and Annie will begin October 18, 2010. Actors cast as James, Captain Keller, and Kate Keller will begin rehearsal on October 25, 2010. Actor cast as Aunt Ev will begin rehearsal November 1, 2010. Performances will be Nov. 8-20, 2010.

Bay Street Theatre encourages actors with hearing impairments to audition. An interpreter will be provided.

Cast Breakdown:

Kate Keller - 30's-40's, strong, proud, caring, loving, principled mother of Helen Keller

Keller - 40's-50's, reserved, prone to rigidity, and ultimately loving father of Helen

Helen Keller- 12-20's actress who will read as a young girl approximately 10 yrs. old; must be comfortable playing blind and deaf child; not afraid of highly physical activity.

Aunt Ev - 60's -70's, doting, Helen's loving aunt

James - 20's, somewhat unfulfilled, searching and intially angry son of Keller; step-son of Kate. This role has been cast.

Annie Sullivan - 20's, uncompromising, forthright, committed teacher to Helen. Annie is sight impaired. This role has been cast.
